AQUATIC PLANTS: AQUATIC PLANTS BY SPECIAL ORDER ONLY
At Shekinah
Aquatic Solutions we pride ourselves in the quality and selection
of the Aquatic Plants that we sell. We will have available this season
about 25 varieties of Hardy Water Lilies from miniature to large growing,
in a variety of colours and shades from White, Pink, Reds, Peach, Yellow
and Changeables. This season we will also have available a very, very,
deep Burgundy colour which looks almost black.
Also available are Tropical Water Lilies, day and evening bloomers
in various colours, and the wonderful Lotus.
In addition we also sell a large variety of Marginal Pond Plants; Oxygenators,
Submerged Pond Plants, and Floating Tropical Plants.
Hardy Marginal Plants and Hardy Lilies will be available at the end
of April or early May depending on the weather.
Floating Tropical Plants would be available as soon as early May but
must be protected from frost or cold temperatures.
Tropical
Lilies, Lotus, and Tropical Marginal Plants will be available mid-June,
again depending on the weather.
For a water garden to function well during the summer a combination
of aquatic plants is a must. 50% to 60% of the pond surface should
be covered with Water Lilies and/or Floating Plants. We recommend a
ratio of 7:3 in favour of hardy plant material. Keep in mind however
that the Tropical Pond Plants have the most showy flowers, and can
bloom all Summer, unlike most of the Hardy Aquatic Plants.
